U-сверло типа WC (серия пластин WCMX)

Indexable U-Drill That Cuts Large Diameter Holes Without Regrinding

WC type indexable U-drill with WCMX inserts covers diameters from φ14 to 60mm and comes in four series: 2×D, 3×D, 4×D and 5×D. Insert models run from WCMX030208 up to WCMX080412.

  • Worn insert comes off and a new one goes on — no regrinding, no waiting on the tool grinder
  • Pick the series by hole depth, not by guesswork: 2×D for shallow, 5×D for deep
  • Runs large diameter holes in steel and cast iron at production feed rates
  • Same drill body serves the whole diameter range; only the WCMX insert changes

Highlights
Key Advantages
  • Insert change is a quick swap, not a regrinding job. When the edge wears out, index or replace the WCMX insert and the drill is back in the spindle — machine downtime stays short.
  • Four depth-to-diameter series (2×D, 3×D, 4×D, 5×D) let you match the drill to the actual hole depth instead of oversizing the tool and losing rigidity.
  • φ14–60mm diameter range means one drill family handles medium through large holes, so you stock fewer body types and one insert line.
  • Built for steel and cast iron at production rates — the insert geometry is aimed at large diameter drilling where chip evacuation and heat are the usual bottlenecks.
  • Insert coverage from WCMX030208 to WCMX080412 maps one-to-one to the diameter range, so there is no gap when you move up or down a size.
Use Cases
Applications
  • Large diameter hole drilling in steel workpieces on CNC machining centers
  • Cast iron component drilling where insert edge wear is the normal limit
  • Heavy machinery and equipment fabrication — base plates, flanges, structural parts
  • General and automotive engineering jobs that need φ14–60mm holes at production speed
  • Deep holes up to 5×D where a 5×D body is selected to avoid peck drilling

FAQ
FAQ
Which series should I order — 2×D, 3×D, 4×D or 5×D?
The number is the maximum hole depth as a multiple of the drill diameter. A 3×D drill at φ20mm reaches about 60mm deep. Go with the shortest series that still reaches your depth; a shorter body is stiffer and drills cleaner. Only step up to 5×D when the hole really needs it.
Do all five insert models fit any drill body?
No. Each diameter range takes a specific WCMX insert — the small end runs WCMX030208, the large end WCMX080412. Ordering the wrong insert model is the most common mistake here, so check the body size against the insert list, or send us the hole diameter and we will match it for you.
Will this drill handle stainless or aluminum?
It is set up for steel and cast iron. Stainless and aluminum behave differently at the cutting edge — different grades and geometry. Tell us the material and we will confirm whether the IU6125 grade fits or recommend an alternative.
How do I know when to change the insert?
Watch flank wear and hole quality. When the wear land reaches your shop limit, or hole size and finish start drifting, index or replace the insert. Because there is no regrinding step, the change is measured in minutes at the machine.
What lead time should I plan for?
In-stock items usually ship in 3–5 business days. Larger quantities and mixed insert models take longer — send the list and we will confirm the actual date rather than quote a standard number.
