General U-drill Inserts (WCMX / SPMG Series)

10 WCMX & SPMG Insert Models for Everyday U-Drill Work

This U-drill insert line covers two shapes: WCMX and SPMG. Both come in IU6125 grade, and there are 10 models total. That means you can cover most common drilling diameters without switching suppliers.

  • WCMX: WCMX030208-WZ, WCMX040208-WZ, WCMX050308-WZ, WCMX06T308-WZ, WCMX080412-WZ
  • SPMG: SPMG050204-EM, SPMG060204-EM, SPMG07T308-EM, SPMG090408-EM, SPMG110408-EM

All models are IU6125 grade. Promo price (tax included) runs 4.20–7.62 yuan/piece. Class B price is 4.40–8.40 yuan/piece. For shops that go through inserts regularly, that price range keeps consumable cost predictable.

Highlights
Key Advantages
  • 10 models across WCMX and SPMG — enough to match most standard U-drill bodies without custom orders.
  • All inserts are IU6125 grade, so you get the same substrate and coating behavior whether you run WCMX or SPMG.
  • Promo price 4.20–7.62 yuan/piece (tax included) keeps per-hole tooling cost low for batch work.
  • Class B tier at 4.40–8.40 yuan/piece gives you a second option when budget or quality requirements differ.
  • Indexable design means you swap the edge, not the whole drill — less downtime on the shop floor.
  • Each model code is specific (e.g. WCMX030208-WZ), so reordering is straightforward and mistakes are fewer.
Use Cases
Applications
  • General U-drill machining on manual or CNC lathes where insert cost matters more than high-speed performance.
  • Job shops that drill multiple hole sizes and need a few insert models on the shelf, not a full catalog.
  • Batch production runs where consistent insert geometry helps keep hole diameter stable.
  • Maintenance and repair work — quick edge changes mean less time with the machine stopped.
  • Shops already using WCMX or SPMG drill bodies that want a low-cost insert source for non-critical holes.
  • Training environments or small workshops where cheap, replaceable inserts reduce tooling risk.

FAQ
FAQ
How do I know which model fits my drill body?
Check your drill body's insert pocket code. WCMX and SPMG are different shapes, so the body must match the series. The model number (e.g. WCMX030208-WZ) usually corresponds to the pocket size. If you're unsure, send us a photo of the pocket or the old insert — we can cross-check.
What does IU6125 grade mean in practice?
IU6125 is a P25–P35 range carbide grade, typically used for general steel and stainless. It's not a high-speed or hardened-steel grade, but it handles everyday drilling on common materials without chipping too easily. If you run abrasive or interrupted cuts, expect normal edge wear.
Why are there two prices — promo and Class B?
The promo price applies to standard stock orders at the listed quantity. Class B is a separate price tier for buyers who need different payment terms, smaller quantities, or mixed-model orders. The insert itself is the same model and grade — the difference is commercial, not product quality.
Can I mix WCMX and SPMG models in one order?
Yes, as long as each model meets the minimum order quantity. Mixed orders are common because most shops use two or three sizes. Send your model list with quantities and we'll confirm stock and lead time.
Are these inserts suitable for stainless steel or just mild steel?
IU6125 works on mild steel, carbon steel, and some stainless. For heavy stainless or high-temperature alloys, you'd normally want a tougher or more heat-resistant grade. These are general-purpose inserts — if your material is difficult, tell us and we'll recommend accordingly.
How do you handle quality claims if an insert fails early?
We keep batch records for each model and grade. If you have a failure, send us the model code, batch number (if printed), and a photo of the insert and the hole. We'll check against our records and discuss replacement or credit on a case-by-case basis. We don't replace inserts that were run with wrong parameters or in incompatible holders.
