Turning Inserts That Drop In Where Your Imported Grades Did

This turning insert line covers the usual mix of workpiece materials in a shop: steel, stainless, and cast iron. WWP115/125 is built to replace imported steel grades directly. WEP115/WEP125N does the same for domestic steel grades. For stainless, go with WEU315/315N, and for cast iron, WEK115/125.

You can get them in LM, TK flat, and AM groove types, so flat turning and grooved turning are both covered. They're meant to slot into existing tooling without changing your setup.

Where It Works
Feature

Where It Works

  • General steel turning on CNC lathes where imported inserts were previously specified (WWP115/125)
  • Steel turning jobs currently running domestic-grade inserts, looking for a direct swap (WEP115/WEP125N)
  • Stainless steel turning and finishing where chip control and surface finish matter (WEU315/315N)
  • Cast iron turning, including roughing and interrupted cuts (WEK115/125)
  • Shops that keep mixed workpiece materials on the floor and want one insert family to cover them
  • Flat and grooved turning operations using LM, TK, and AM chipbreaker styles

FAQ

Questions Buyers Often Ask

I'm currently running imported inserts on steel. Which of these replaces them?
Go with WWP115/125. It's made as a direct substitute for imported steel grades, so you can keep your speeds, feeds, and tool holders as they are. If you're running domestic steel grades instead, WEP115/WEP125N is the matching replacement.
Can I use the same insert for stainless and cast iron?
No — they're different grades for a reason. WEU315/315N is for stainless, WEK115/125 is for cast iron. Running a stainless grade on cast iron (or the reverse) usually shows up as poor chip control or short tool life. Keep them separate.
Will these fit my existing tool holders?
Yes. The series is built as a drop-in replacement for imported inserts, so it fits standard tooling without adapters or setup changes. If you have a specific holder model, send it over and we'll confirm the match.
What's the difference between LM, TK flat, and AM grooves?
They're different chipbreaker geometries for different turning situations — flat turning versus grooved turning, and different feed ranges. Tell us your operation (finishing, roughing, interrupted cut) and we'll point you to the right one rather than guessing.
How long does delivery take?
It depends on the grade and quantity you order. Send us the model and groove type, and we'll come back with a real lead time — not a generic one.
Can you provide quality documentation?
Yes. Each grade is produced for its specific workpiece material, and we can supply the relevant quality documents for your incoming inspection. Let us know what your QA team needs.
